This is my favourite time of year. It's not only because today I can walk outside in just a sweater—at least six of Ontario's months have days like that. What March has that the others don't is the anticipation of spring. I like looking forward to it as much as the reality. This is how I am about sex, too. If nature could hold off its orgasm I would wait in ecstasy for several months without complaint.

Besides melting ice and puddings of dark, fragrant mud, March has my birthday. This one I have dreaded for a while. Today while poking along the riverside I determined this is actually my 41st March. Simply perverse. But considering how I love the month, I might as well have more of them.

My daughters will probably visit for March Break, so they'll be here on the actual day, which is always the last day of winter and the zodiac year. But I wanted to do something with my friends, so instead of stewing about it I went ahead and planned something for this Saturday. The size of my place precludes a big bash. If things go according to plan, Danny will be here along with five or six of my Guelph friends. It will be the largest group I have hosted in more than five years. No way we can all sit at a table, so I'm planning on finger foods, mostly prepared ahead. Later we can head to the Robin's Nest.

Between those plans and more serious life issues I have to look after, I feel overwhelmed but not unhappy.

I will post more pics from the Toronto weekend during the next few days.

Hehe, glad you liked these things. It's an exquisite season, and I'm self-indulging.

Hugs,
Van

The nice thing about this time of year, as you say, is the sense of *impending* gratification. Making a mental note about other forms of heightened almost-there to explore with you at some point ....

Equinox

Yes, quite. :) To run with the theme here, one friend and I had a rhythm with each other whereby we could enjoy the impending near arrival of spring for a couple of hours. Um, yeah. Nice when one can hover around equinox like that.

It shouldn't surprise me that you have explored this. I wonder whether being bisexual has something to do with it. Men who seek to please women sexually must often learn to delay gratification, and consequently discover the exquisite pleasure of doing so. Many gay men have never had this training, but it's my favourite kind of sex.

I *love* theories that having "gone both ways" makes me an interesting lover. Bi women have told me that bi men tend to be good at oral gratification and I have the same comment about them, so it's possible that "compare/contrast" has something to it. The sweetie I'm thinking of would be a counterexample, though. His interest in women was very occasional and never actually consummated. Quite happily gay.

Me, I just wanna "explore" hotties who think this is an interesting topic of discussion ...... :-)

Hi Ian!

This info casts a whole 'nother light on Madonna's recent lyric "I do yoga and Pilates and the room is full of hotties, so I'm checking out their bodies and you know I'm satisfied." :-)

It has been raining all afternoon! Too soon to expect this mild weather to stick, though.

The soil becomes saturated with moisture, because melting snow is absorbed more readily than rainwater, which runs off faster. The soil cannot be tilled too soon, or else it becomes compacted, however this moisture "charge" is essential to the ensuing growing season. Deep tree roots are particularly dependent on it. Our trees can become stressed for lack of moisture despite good summer rains if we have several winters in a row with poor snow cover.

the birth of an aries.
when what day is your birthday?

My daughters is on the 26th. I can't wait but it stresses me somewhat. These days I think of her constantly and miss her so much it eats at me. No matter how busy I keep, no matter what I try to get involved with I am so down.

Are you aries?
I hope that your get together is great fun and that you roll with it. enjoy and all that
be well

hey if you feel inclined email me your address and I'll see if a card and envelope can't make it your way in time for the birth.

My birthday is March 19, so I'm Pisces on an Aries cusp.

Sorry to hear you're feeling down about Elli. I can understand and relate. Like so many things in life, it's a matter of letting go. Knowing that and being able to do it are two different matters. It takes time.
