Several times a year I like to see what's blooming at Allan Gardens in downtown Toronto. Admission is free. I visited on Friday afternoon. The University of Toronto greenhouses, moved from another location, are currently under reconstruction adjoining the original structure.

More will follow.

Wow. I just added something else to my growing list of things-to-do when I visit Toronto.

Look forward to more!

If you plan to visit the Gay Village, Allan Gardens is only four blocks away.

I don't know, but if you look at the bottom of the second photo you will notice the head of a man seated on a park bench. That will give you some sense of the scale.

Isn't it a gem? Speaking of illusions, how wonderful it was to go indoors and have a brief experience of tropical warmth. By the time I came out I was sweating, and with the weather above freezing I had to pack my jacket away and wear just my sweater back to the Gay Village for lunch.
