The view from my hall window is bleak this morning. I doubt that the girls and I will venture far from the nest today.

My cold is no better, and was not helped by the upstairs neighbours slamming doors, trudging up and downstairs and yelling at one another at 6:30 this morning. I don't know how my daughters slept through it. When Marian and Brenna are here I sleep on a futon in the living room, which means I have less shelter from the noise. For half an hour I listened to one of the upstairs children run back and forth across my ceiling. This, after my cough kept me awake until after 3. I wouldn't let normal family sounds bother me, but that is not a normal family. For starters, they never, ever take the babies outside.
I won't be taking my babies outside much today. I warned them it would be a rest day. Hopefully I'll feel well enough for a walk tomorrow, when the temperature is supposed to rise to freezing again. The long range forecast is unencouraging, though.
While we're cocooning, here is another picture of my space. I have posted images of my office and writing desk before, but not my computer table. It was recently tidied, so here goes.

On the bulletin board are several old art exercises that inspire me. There's a plate of cinnamon toast and my morning coffee. Besides what's on my computer screen I can see three gifts from LJ friends in this picture. Do you know who you are?

Date: 2004-03-12 09:50 am (UTC)Hope you start feeling better soon. Pills are good, but I think rest works best. Maybe your daughters can wait on you hand and foot in the interim. (It's worth trying for, anyhow . .)

It looks like your monitor and printer are to heavy for the shelf since it is seriously bowed (I'm assuming that it isn't photographic distortion). Also, be careful that you don't get toast crumbs or cinnamon dust in the keyboard.
