Jewel in the jungle

Several times a year I like to see what's blooming at Allan Gardens in downtown Toronto. Admission is free. I visited on Friday afternoon. The University of Toronto greenhouses, moved from another location, are currently under reconstruction adjoining the original structure.

He had been to the fair that day
seen a sheep sheered
and brought you a creamy wad.
Now it is almost spring.
Walking down the sunlit pavement
you reach into your pocket
and find him there
spinning you memories.
