Mom and Dad took us to see it again on Boxing Day. I noticed a subtle but significant change in the story. C.S. Lewis's book attributes the end of everlasting winter to Aslan's return. In the movie, Father Christmas says it's because of the arrival of the children in Narnia and the hope they bring. This gives a more humanistic spin.
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Marian received the DVD for Christmas. We watched it tonight. I liked this quote:
Slartibartfast: Perhaps I'm old and tired but I think that the chances of finding out what's actually going on are so absurdly remote that the only thing to do is say, "Hang the sense of it," and keep yourself busy. I'd much rather be happy than right any day.
Arthur Dent: And are you?
Slartibartfast: Uh, no [a snort of laughter]. Well that's where it all falls down of course.
