Warp for my third weaving project

It took several enjoyable hours to make the warp. I worked a while yesterday and finished it today. This photo was taken around the two-thirds point.

The warping board is a square wooden frame with holes for pegs. The pegs are located to set the warp the appropriate length for the project. In this case, for a shawl, the length is relatively short, just two yards.

Now I'm eager to dress the loom, but the next thing I ought to do is inspect it and make sure everything is working properly, as we were instructed in the course. I can do that tomorrow after work.

This weekend while Danny was busy e-commuting I washed two large loads of dishes by hand, did laundry, phoned Marian and Kerri, emailed Brenna, went to market, spent several hours warping, and baked an awfully delicious blueberry crisp. When Danny was able to take breaks from work, we watched two movies and played three games of Cities and Knights of Catan. Despite all this I developed the anxious, slightly guilty feeling I accomplished "not much of anything". It's particularly ironic considering I've frequently whined about not having enough time this summer to simply relax and do "not much of anything".

Danny was just going out the door to catch the 7:10 bus when work called. He had to sit down and fix something. By then it was too late. The next bus was 9:20. So after finishing the job, he wanted to walk to The Boathouse and get ice cream. We did.

This Speed River scene is one of the things I love about Guelph.
