Alien surgery at school
Sep. 15th, 2011 08:19 amDreamt I was back at high school but it was different. We lived there. Instead of hallways it was laid out as a warren of classrooms and we slept in some of them. The rooms I saw didn't have much furniture except the cots we slept on. There were few students and about the same number of teachers. Mr. MacAdam and Mr. Wasylniuk (gym teachers) might have been there (because I woke up thinking about them), but otherwise I can't remember anyone specifically except Carey. The school was mostly empty, but this was apparently normal.
I woke up alone in my room. I had been sharing it with someone, but that person was gone, which did not alarm me. I looked in the mirror and saw a huge light brown wart on my forehead. I was terrified. It had another smaller dark brown wart like a raisin popping out on top of it. I touched the little one and discovered it was goop coming out of a hole in the wart. When I pressed it, a huge mass of jelly the colour of red beans cames out in my hand. I dropped it on the counter. I was disgusted but also relieved that the wart wasn't permanent.
This convinced me that something was wrong with the whole place and I went running to tell Carey. He was just waking up on his cot in another room.
"We're being invaded by aliens!" I told him.
He said, "Calm down, it's not that bad."
I looked in the mirror again and found further evidence. A little lower on my forehead (I hadn't noticed it before because of the wart) was a hole someone had drilled. A circular tattoo had been drawn around the hole with two curved lines inside it like Japanese brush strokes. The space inside the circle was tattoed white. Through the pencil-sized hole I could see milky fluid slopping inside my head, no brains.
"You have to believe me!" I wailed.
Carey was still sitting on his cot (actually just a big sleeping bag on the floor). He gestured for me to sit down and said, "There there."

The dream woke me up around 4:30 and I never got back to sleep. I shouldn't have eaten the extra cheese slices and sandwich meat before bed last night.
Incidentally my after-work routine has continued pretty well so far this week. Yesterday I finished a first draft of the short story started on Monday. I'm excited about that.
