Nighstalker

Right here on the arm of my chair, just now. The image is close to life size. I've been sitting here in the semi-dark with just the light from the living room. I felt something tickling my leg a few minutes ago. I don't remember their classification, but I think one of their common names is nightstalker. They're nocturnal, predatory and beneficial. It was probably looking for a moth or a fly. It has gone outside now.

Yes, that's exactly what it is; I remember now from my entomology courses 20 years ago! It certainly sounds like a hostile alien, doesn't it?

eep. we had a bunch of the leafy-foot guys in our barn-house that we rented two years ago...and so I looked them up and read about the assasins and wondered if it could be them instead. scared me a bit, because they seemed so docile that i had been 'relocating' them by hand and talking to them like pets...then all I could think of was the possible sudden dramatic piercing of my skin by a dagger-straw! hehe.I tried to ask them directly if they were assasins but they wouldn't answer.

Hehe, I wasn't taking any chances. My assassin travelled downstairs in a wad of tissue.
