Before this afternoon's concert I paid a quick visit to the Eramosa River. I've chosen to set up a sacred space there in the midst of three mature willows. It is near my entrance to the park so I can visit it at the end of every walk if I choose, but lies slightly secluded from the maze of trails. I tried out a couple of meditations there. I began by reciting an old favourite rediscovered recently. Next I used one I learned this week from Stephanie Dowrick's The Intimacy and Solitude Workbook. It's called, "Breaking down barriers." I have also found it useful while walking. I might post an adaptation of it here when I have more time.

From the same place, I can see Old Man Willow and the pond in the distance through the trees. When I finished meditating, I noticed some activity by the riverbank, so I went over to see. Jeff (left) and his brother showed me these two model boats they made by hand. His brother bought a new weed whacker and tore it apart to make the red one. They expected a friend to arrive soon with a boat of his own.

Tonight after the concert Jon is giving me a ride to Toronto, where I'll be until Wednesday morning.

Thank you, I'll probably post more about that place at a later time. Enjoying my visit so far. I'm amazed at how much energy I have. I didn't appreciate what a difficult time I was having.
