Montreal bound
Jul. 15th, 2004 11:59 pmI spent all day today on the road: driving Brenna to the cottage to stay with my parents, then returning home by bus. Tomorrow morning I depart for Montreal and the seventh international GALA festival, including more than 5,000 people from over 150 choruses.
djjo is coming, too. Les will pick me and Danny up and drive us there. A few more members of the Waterloo-Wellington Rainbow Chorus will trickle in over the weekend, and a few carloads on Tuesday. Our performance is Thursday afternoon, and we're counting on 44 members singing. I'll return home on July 25.
bigmacbear will be there with the Rochester Gay Men's Chorus, and his partner,
gmjambear. I'm especially looking forward to meeting
dakoopst for the first time. I know of a few other LJers attending the festival, too. If anyone wants to contact me, I'll be staying in a block with about half the members of my chorus at the Best Western under my own name.
Another highlight will be a comedy night by Lily Tomlin on Wednesday.
I haven't visited Montreal since Expo 67 when I was three. In fact I haven't travelled outside Ontario since '96. So I'm more than a little excited.
Break a leg, all you fabulous choristers.
