These three are interesting enough to post, but don't fall into any particular category or require much comment, which is all I can manage tonight. All were taken around Lake Fletcher. The butterfly is an Eastern comma, Polygonia comma.

I've still got one long, busy month ahead though, two long months before the leaves fall. A couple red ones I found by the stream were an anomaly. It's great to hear from you, huggles included. I hope you're having happy transitions.

I think I've seen those around here too, but never could tell for sure what they were (I find identifying butterflies really hard).

Apparently several other Polygonia species are found in Ontario, so I might be mistaken. Unfortunately I left all my field guides at the cottage, however I found other online images of the Eastern comma that appear practically identical.
