Rejoice!

What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the niety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbours, saying to them, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!'

~Luke 15:4-6, NKJV

It vanished in March and I had given up hope.

Today in preparation for making pickles I went into the office to retrieve the two-gallon crock, which doubles as container for a fiddle-leaf fig beside the desk. There in the bottom was my lost sheep.

It's the gizmo that attaches a camera to the top of the tripod.

All praise the mightly Pickle!

Congrats there Van. That'll make taking some of your nature pictures MUCH easier. You won't have to worry so much about hand shake, etc.

Hugs and happy pickling!

Yeah, it makes self-pix easier too, teehee.

Okay, back to the kitchen.

Happy findings there Van!

I have a few things missing and they'll probably show up when I least expect them to. :-) One of them is the original belt clip for my cell phone. Can't find it and had to buy another one. I'm betting that it'll show up one day out of the blue.

I'm glad I didn't buy another tripod.

Fortunately the clip I bought is in some ways better than the original and only cost me $6 US.

Oh, yes, that's one of the Natural Laws: Once you've looked everywhere for something and given up and bought a new one, then (and only then) the old one will turn up, either in a completely impossible place for it to have been or somewhere you've already looked at least twice.

Yup. I've have that happen once or twice I'm sure.

So what happened to the rest of the sheep? This quote inspired me to issue a small flurry of google queries, but to no avail. I can't help but imagine this guy returning from the woods to find that his entire flock has disappeared.

They probably stampeded off a cliff and crushed a few Samaritans, but the Bible leaves out things like that.

And what a fitting ceremonial tribute to the prodigal part!

Around here that part is called "the dingus". So when you hear us screaming "where's the dingus!?" you'll know what it's about.

Phew, I always thought that meant I was in trouble!

Oh you are. Spankings all round. But not because of the dingus.

Oh my. I've been on the lookout for two (yes TWO) of those around my apartment the past, oh... 6 months.

I have hope! They can be found!

And I was thinking how could I be so disorganized as to lose one of those things. I guess I'm lucky I only have one tripod. Hehe. Hope you find them.

Always there it used to annoy me, but having gone without it for six months, I'll follow you're advice.
