I've quoted these lyrics here before, and I'll do it again. Just need to hear the song now.

Speed River at my feet running low and flat
I'm sitting here burning daylight,
thinking about the past
and that distance out there
where the earth meets the sky
The slightest move and this river mud
pulls me further down

~Cowboy Junkies
I won't begrudge nature one moment of rainy July and August for such a beautiful September.

Wow.. things are still very green there. Even here the trees are starting to turn, especially with this recent cold snap.

We have a little colour, but these silver maples seem slower to turn. We haven't had any cold weather though; it has continued just as nice ever since it cleared up on Thursday evening.

I'm glad you like them. I know I've heard them, but I'm not familiar. Gotta get myself a recording. Anyway, one member of the band is from Guelph, that's how the Speed River got into this song.
