While touring artist studios in downtown Guelph on Saturday, Danny and I dodged rain and hail. Finally the sun came out and set brilliantly in a clear sky. Here are five photos I shot.

A view of St. George's Anglican Church:

We got lost trying to escape from a suite in the Guelph centre mall, and ended up in this back alley. Rain was still running from the gutters as the sun came out.

Macdonell Street glistened under a spectacular sky.

The setting sun reflected off the windows of Old Quebec Street, setting this security truck aglow from every side.

Upper windows along Wyndam Street, Guelph's main drag:

Did you find inspiration? I certainly did. :-)

Oh yes! I spoke with someone at each studio and asked permission to photograph some of the art work and post it at my site. I told those that agreed that I would put a link to their website and then ended up needing to search those sites myself to find the name of artists so I could give them credit for their work (I didn't take a notebook with me as I expected to be told I could not take pictures). Touring those sites was almost as enjoyable as going through the studios :)

I was too shy to ask anyone if I could photograph their work. I would have loved to take photos of some of Marilyn Clarke's quilts.

I was surprised by how many told me it was ok. Those that said no, explained it was the artists' decision due to copyright issues. I wouldn't think that would apply to a quilt.
