Friday early bird special: dead car
Oct. 29th, 2004 01:09 amThe "dead car" Brenna and I found alongside the Bruce Trail today provided one of the most interesting photographic opportunities I've had for some time. An old wreck is photogenic by itself, but I was particularly attracted to the nostalgic juxtaposition of autumn leaves and corroded engineering. It was strikingly reminiscent of quilt artist Lorraine Roy's Satin and Steel exhibit, which I viewed on Saturday. The online gallery shows samples of her husband's photographs from an old foundry, which accompanied her fabric pieces.
The light conditions seemed too low at the time I shot these images. I had to switch off the automatic flash, which is usually a bad sign. But the images turned out sharp enough, and I had a hard time choosing a favourite to post here. If anyone can suggest what make and model of car this was, I would appreciate it.

Date: 2004-10-29 08:34 am (UTC)I didn't have any problems uploading pics to the site, but I was working in low-traffic hours. The site has certainly been stubborn. I hope people don't have too much trouble viewing the gallery today.
