Who is participating in NaNoWriMo this year? If you are, where are you posting your writing? Here's the list of what I know and don't know. If you get a question mark, or you're participating but not on the list, please fill me in. If you get an exclamation mark, I know!

Sorry if you have already answered these questions somewhere. I haven't been able to keep uptodate the past few days, but I want to know. Thanks.

I started to write this morning. I'm up to 240-something words. I'll see how far I get by tonight. My goal is 3300 words total to be on track. If I make it, I'll plow through as best I can. If not, I may have to reconsider for this year. I'll let you know more as I figure it out myself.

If it starts to look too demanding, you could always set a lower goal for yourself, say 30,000 words. You might not get the official NaNo emblem of victory, but it would still be a valuable achievement. Are you planning to post it anywhere online?

I haven't decided yet. I may revamp my pittsburghwriter.com site and use it for that. We'll see.

My username on nanowrimo is silvan. I'm posting my writing in [livejournal.com profile] blind_kind. It is friends only, but to anyone who wants to read it: just add that journal and let me know, and I'll add you back.

BTW I made those pumpkin cream cheese muffins today and they are amazing. Just the thing I need to keep me going right now: a little decadence!

What is NaNoWriMo?

And if anything, pumpkin cream cheese muffins sound rather wholesome, not decadent at all!

Well I don't get much decadence, so let me imagine it.

NaNoWriMo is National Novel Writing Month. The challenge is to write a 50,000 word novel within the month of November.

I completed it last year with a whimsical tale about a teenage girl who travels into cyberspace to rescue her father.

This year I have tackled a much more serious subject: a story based on my experience of Christian fundamentalism and the ex-gay movement. I'm already about 5,000 words on my way.
