Nov. 20th, 2004 03:52 amI had some initial jitters about meeting a kindred spirit and wanting it to be right, but my nerves quickly settled down. We really are on a similar wavelength; probably been picking up vibrations for years or even longer. Her manner and way of speaking, relaxed but articulate, remind me of a cherished childhood friend from Alabama, Morgan Lewis, who I lost track of a decade ago.
I'm cooking vegetarian this weekend. The lasagna came out of the oven shortly after Ziggy arrived—tofu mushroom spinach—a recipe worth repeating. We spent the rest of the evening lolling on the couch, discussing politics and the writing process, reading one another's poetry, listening to cool tunes on her laptop, and munching butterscoth oatmeal squares. It was perfect.
Ziggy likes to eat, but I hadn't realized from her pictures how petite she is. I guess she's all soul.
