[livejournal.com profile] uberdaddybear's uberfun writing task

Today's first writing assignment is to spent some time telling us about the things that you buy or do to cheer yourself up when you've had a hard day. The second [art is when you feel the need for a complete "happiness" recharge what would be your ideal plan to do it. Now we've fantasized before so this time lets keep it real within the scopes of realistic bounds of our work schedules, finances and the lot.

When I need a quick recharge, a walk along the Eramosa River works wonders. In fact I try to go there early every day to charge up. It's just a block from my apartment, so access is easy. I can walk through the park on the near side, but there's a bridge not far away, so I can cross to the woods on the opposite bank, or follow Lilac Way and other trails that lead upstream into open countryside.

Walking there every day I get familiar with the sites and sounds. It's never boring; it's like getting to know a lover. I like watching the change of seasons, seeing the river in all its moods. It lifts me out of my troubles.

When I need a complete recharge, the best place to go is the cottage on Lake Fletcher. It has the same effect as the river, but goes deeper. Spending a few days there cleanses the soul. My friends have said I'm a different person at the lake. It's because anxiety doesn't follow me there.

I enjoyed that post. It's amazing how these places bring inspiration, isn't it? Nature is a teacher.

That photograph is stunning.
