Kingsmill Avenue yesterday afternoon
Les phoned last night, too tired to go out. I'd been looking forward to the company, and considered staying home. But it was Saturday night; after a week of quiet evenings it didn't seem right. I could even go to Toronto! Different agendas arose within me.
The sensual part wanted to dance at the Cell Block or watch other sexy men move through shadows at the Black Eagle. The horny part craved a night of free sex at the Barracks. The lonely part wanted Danny.
In the end I opted for friendship and connection, heading to Bakers Street in Cambridge after all.
I danced with Jon, Chloey, her friend Gloria, and several acquaintances of Jon's whose names I forget. But the largest part of the evening was spent chatting and dancing with Crystal, her partner, Lori, and two of their friends.
It was my first visit to Bakers Street since it changed ownership. I liked the redesign, atmosphere and music. But as Crystal said: "Not much eye candy."
Funny how a lesbian with Shirley Temple prettiness understands my taste in men. Why is it that large hairy gay men in Ontario don't care to dance? I miss Montreal's Le Stud.
