Yesterday we drove Brenna home. Wet snow let up as we approached Lindsay.

Marian didn't get out of the car to see her mother, so my ex came outside. I felt a little sorry for her. Marian didn't have much to say. My ex and Danny got a glance at each other, nothing more.

Then we turned around and drove back into the snow. It was gorgeous, sticking to tree branches, but we were all sick of winter. I didn't stop for photographs. Between lingering congestion, nasty driving conditions and eye strain, I ended up with a headache. It was comforting to have Danny along.

Back in Toronto, [livejournal.com profile] djjo, [livejournal.com profile] bitterlawngnome and [livejournal.com profile] danthered threw me a birthday dinner, attended by [livejournal.com profile] rfmcdpei, [livejournal.com profile] balunbustingbea, [livejournal.com profile] detailbear, [livejournal.com profile] teddybtoronto, [livejournal.com profile] raccoon_it, Mike and a friend, M, me and Marian. Later we watched The Incredibles. I felt increasingly exhausted.

Today was springlike. Marian and I walked all the way downtown then back along Queen Street, some seven kilometres. We stopped at Honest Ed's, HMV, Pizza Pizza, the World's Biggest Bookstore, Arton Beads, a head shop where Marian bought a new plug earring, the Second Cup, and finally caught the Ossington bus back to Danny and Bill's.

I'm still unusually sluggish and headachy.

Sounds like a wonderful time, even if you are physically under the weather a bit...

Feel better soon, wonderful man. :)

Thanks, a little lie down and snuggle before dinner helped somewhat. :-)

AWWWWW! you're spending quality time with Marian! (meaning mainly the nice long walk, but also stopping in a head shop to buy an ear plug) How cool is that? (Really!)

Oh, and happy birthday.

Thanks. I'm glad you think it's cool. I'm very uptight on the inside. Some of the things we do scare me out of my wits.

Drawing on my memories of adolescence, you're doing something very right if she's willing to do this with you.

I'm happy you had a good birthday, and I apologize for missing its acknowledgement.

No need. I'm terrible about acknowledging birthdays myself. But thank you. :-)

It was a delight meeting Marian last night at Sunday dinner. She's quite a poised and charming young lady. I'm sorry I didn't get more of a chance to chat with her.

Thank you, Bob. I'm sure there will be many more opportunities.

hope you are feeling less drained now.

I had this godawful nightmare. I was at your party, sitting outside, painfully bashful, feeling like an idiot, and topping it off I felt terrible that I was taking away from your day. So vivid and so wacked. I hope it was an incredible dinner with loved ones. be well

Man, I would have loved to have you there. Mike and Elli, too. I have this fantasy about going on vacation with the kids together.
