Sunday afternoon: a walled garden by the Grand River in Fergus

Grand River, Fergus

I saw Dr. J. today. After two weeks on 10 mg of Celexa, I haven't noticed any effects, good or ill. I will now increase the dose gradually, over three weeks, to 40 mg.

Yesterday afternoon I met Keith, the social worker. At the time I felt pretty rough. We talked about a crisis management plan, something I've never had before.

He suggested keeping a list of my 10 favourite things, things to enjoy when I need some self care.

"I know it sounds kind of Julie Andrews," he said, "but I probably thought of it before she did."

Really, he's not that old.

Favourite things:

1. Drawing in Prismacolor.
2. Cheese.
3. Walking along the Eramosa River. I ought to leave my camera behind once in a while, just let that time be for me.
4. Playing computer games like Parcheesi and Solitaire.
5. Writing at my desk in the morning.
6. Sitting on the dock at Lake Fletcher, listening to thrushes sing in evening light, watching the bats start to circle the bay and then the stars come out.
7. Looking at pictures of naked bearish men.
8. Receiving a long, slow blowjob.
9. Playing piano.
10. Cuddling.

I don't want to sound flippant, but I find myself smiling while envisioning how many of these things you could enjoy simultaneously!

That could get complicated. ;-)

I keep forgetting to tell you that there was a woman from Guelph in my last Faery workshop. When I mentioned to her that I had a friend who lives there and loves to walk by the Eramosa, she smiled appreciatively.

hugs, Shimmer

What an interesting connection. It reminds of the photo of Danny in this post:

An LJ friend of mine from Arizona thought he recognized the woman in the background.

i like the framing of that first photo -- the blue of the sky and the stark tree shot through the square of stone. beautiful. and i like the listing. that sounds like something i should write up for myself!

oops, i'm answering from the "wrong" place. thanks for friending me. :)

Thanks, V. I liked that tree. Someone must have planned the garden that way.

Thanks for inviting me. I will read your fiction as often as I am able.

WOW

Thank you! Recently I have been unable to read LJ consistently, and when I do, I often don't have the clarity to offer meaningful comments, but I want you to know how much I've enjoyed all the gorgeous images of egrets.

Thank you. I've been going through something similar and sometimes wonder if people I used to communicate with are upset because of my silence, but realize we all pretty much go through periods like this...and that there is a great deal of LJ understanding out there.

I've noticed a kind of tide in most LJ relationships, sometimes even the most imtimate ones. A few do not survive the waning cycles, but the ones that do are worth keeping.

Yes, I've noticed the same thing, and agree with you completely about the keepers ;-)
