The writing workshop was well received, and felt like a success from my perspective, too. I ended up attending three other workshops myself, and each was a rich experience. I'll post more about the day, but probably not until tomorrow. Now I just want to unwind. I almost hopped a ride to Toronto with [livejournal.com profile] balunbustingbea, but decided to stay home and save my pennies for the trip to Rochester next weekend with [livejournal.com profile] djjo, and Northern Exposure (caution: link is not work friendly).

It was an amazing day. One of the other workshops I attended was sacred circle dancing. It felt powerful. I'll write more later.

I thought it would turn out well, too, but it's hard to know when you've never tried something. It was a critical experience. I've been contemplating adult education as a vocation.

My first trip across the border in several years. I'm looking forward to it.

Definitely consider attending the lilac festival (both the faire and the lilacs) if you can - I think it's the kind of thing you'd really enjoy.

Oh yes, Danny has asked Gary about taking us to see it.

I was trying to find my way home from Amber Fox last night down interminable sideroads. Kept passing old farmsteads surrounded by picturesque lilacs.

Yay for the Yay! But then it surprises none of your friends.

Have a good time next weekend. The Ranch is usually an Eye Opening Experience. ;-)

No surprises, you say? But no one had ever seen me give a workshop before.

True, but you're intelligent, articulate, expressive and care about the subject matter. While it is true that emotiions or blood chemistry might have interrupted or delayed your presentation, I had no doubt that you could give a workshop and do it well.

Just as others had no doubt I could lead a service or give the 'sermon' or chair a controversial annual meeting when I was at the Fellowship. I just couldn't see past my fears and programming.

I believe in you and your abilities, as many others do. We'll be here to help you learn to believe it yourself and get past your own programming.

HUGS.

Kevin
