Bathroom update

These guys are not doing a half-assed job. They have fixed the hall ceiling! I thought that would be the next job I had to get the landlord working on. They said the water-damaged wall needs repair, too, but for now they're going to put fresh panelling over it.

The bathroom is still a couple days from being done. Once they tore the tub out and got into the mess behind, it turned out to be a bigger job than they expected. They have laid a new floorboard, but there is no wall or floor covering yet. They said they will put the toilet in for tonight. I won't have a shower, but that's a good excuse to go to the gym tomorrow morning. They have even removed the cracked bathroom window, so apparently that will be replaced.

I never dreamt they would be so thorough. The rest of the apartment—kitchen, living room, office, bedroom—is simply old, still functional and safe, but the bathroom and hall were seriously broken. Anyone who has visited will understand what a difference this will make.

I have appointments now. Another post later.

Rather, they're persuading the landlord to do what ought to be done, which is a tougher job, and I'm grateful.

Glad you are getting more than just the fixes they said they would do. This will make the hallway / bathroom a much better place to be.

Man, I hope they're done by Friday! I expect so, but it still looks like a big job. Have a good night there, and I can hardly wait to see you.
