Second anniversary

Me and Danny at O'Grady's today

The night I met Danny, we disappeared into the bedroom and hardly emerged for the rest of the weekend. The sensuality was breathtaking, and the more we get to know each other, the better it gets. But it was more than good sex that kept us making love for two days. On a deeper level, I slipped into his comfortable presence, a sense of easy, quiet companionship I never had before. Never have I worried where I stood with him. Along with his other unusual gifts, Danny never gets on my nerves. He doesn’t remind me of anyone. I find this stable island emerging from the sea of my life.
Today we took the ferry to Toronto Island, wandered through the park, got caught in a dead end with a locked gate, strolled along the boardwalk where we heard a cedar waxwing and stopped to smell the mock-orange, and returned to the mainland for sangria and calamari on the patio at O’Grady’s.
Considering how much vertigo can shake me up, it’s interesting that I love the movement of a boat under my feet. The sensations are not much different, but one is in my head and the other is real.
