dakoopst is coming. He just phoned from the highway and should be here in an hour. Stephen and I met in person in Montreal last July. The chemistry was great, but we were both busy with choir performances and exploring the city, so we only had a few scattered hours to spend together, two alone. Returning from Toronto this morning I felt an unexpected jangle of nerves about the visit. Frankly, I have a crush on the guy, and want to make a good impression this week. I know: just relax, be myself and enjoy the company.

I left my camera in Toronto and didn't realize until 15 minutes from home. I turned around and went back, spending three hours on the road instead of 70 minutes.

It gave me the chance to hear Karl Haas on WNED Buffalo. As a teenager I listened to Adventures in Good Music faithfully on WQRS Detroit, learning much of what I know about the music I love. Surfing this evening, I discover he died in February at the age of 91. He launched the program in 1959. I can't find any indication when he stopped broadcasting.

Thanks Karl, for giving me so much.

Thank you. I've left my camera behind once or twice before, but it would have been a terrible shame not to record this visit with my friend.

you're not the only one with a crush on him. well, not sure if crush is the right word, but from our LJ interactions, and a few chats on 411, I *really* like him alot!!!
