One of my stories will air again today on http://1001.net.au/ at 3:44 EDT. The story I submitted on Tuesday was not chosen, but Barbara Campbell asked me to submit it again today. I have revised it to reflect today's prompt, "focus of all lenses." She told me she had dreamt about the videotape in my story.

In other news, I have made reservations for:
  1. Voyageur Provincial Park, Ontario, August 9-10, $63.

  2. Kejimkujik National Park, Nova Scotia, August 14-16, $80.

  3. Prince Edward Island National Park, August 17-19, $83.

  4. Hole-in-the-Wall Park and Campground, Grand Manan Island, New Brunswick, August 20-21, $50 (uncomfirmed).
I'm still waiting for confirmation from Gary about using his farm on Cape Breton August 11-13, and mulling over the return journey before making reservations for the last two days.

I think I can drive for 14 hours in one day, but 17?

Grrr.  Couldn't get a lock on the stream for the performance.

I had a little trouble at the beginning both times, on different computers. While I was viewing the "Today Now" page, QuickTime loaded, but then the "she sleeps now" screen returned. As soon as I clicked to another page and then returned, the webcast commenced, in progress.

My record was 16, when I was doing road trips out west. But that worked best when at the end of the 16 hours, I could fall into my own bed at home.

I miss road trips. Your trip out east sounds incredibly wonderful.

Also: Congratulations on the radio readings of your work!

Thanks, it's helpful to hear your experience. I figured it would be okay to have a long drive with home at the end.

The hardest day is actually going to be driving 14 hours from Montreal to Nova Scotia and having to erect tents at the end. My approach will be to get an early start, maybe waking up at 6, decamping quickly, getting going and eating breakfast on the road.
