Goldfrapp Glass

I noticed it months ago, but I'm still impressed whenever I hear it: Goldfrapp's song "Deep honey" is based on the slow second movement from Philip Glass's Violin Concerto. I suspect other songs on the Black Cherry album make Classical references, but haven't been able to pick them out.

So far Black Cherry is the only album I'm familiar with. It's one that Marian and I both like a lot. Someone else mentioned she did a hilarious cover of "Let's get physical." Her voice can be strangely aloof at times, at others she sounds like feline passion in the back alley.

I want to get the soundtrack to The Hours. I loved it during the movie, but don't think I've ever heard it since. The violin concerto is one of my favourite Glass compositions. I first heard about it on LJ! Nice to hear from you!
