Comfort day
Dec. 10th, 2005 11:02 pmA heap of snow dumped on Guelph the night before last. A plough arrived first thing in the morning to clear around the store. I whipped on boots and coat, ran downstairs and moved the car so the plough could do my corner of the lot. It was one of those crisp, sparkling mornings that often follows a snowstorm. I wanted to go photo shooting later, but clouds arrived within an hour and ended my enthusiasm.
I picked Danny up at the bus depot last night.
Today was a perfect Saturday for staying in with my boyfriend. I've needed a quite, cocooning, nurturing day to offset the stress of a new undertaking. This was just the thing.
I received considerable knitting instruction today. First I had to learn how to graft the ends of Marian's hat, which is now finished. I'm quite pleased with the results and will post a photo here in a couple of days. We did some lovemaking then went out for dinner: pub fare with lots of crispy onion rings at the Pennywhistle. Back home Danny showed me how to knit in the round using double-pointed needles to make Brenna's beanie.
Altogether, a pleasant, comforting day.
