Marian and me

Deb, the program coordinator at Two Rivers, took this photo a few minutes ago in Lyon Park. That's Roy on the left, Rachel on the right, and I don't know the fellow in red. I'm wearing the beautiful toque-scarf Danny gave me last year, which this mild winter has given me few opportunities to wear (it was much appreciated today). Yesterday it would have been Mudfest, but all this snow fell since overnight. We had some snow painting and tug-o'-war, but people weren't staying long because of the cold wind. Marian was keeping her hands warm on top of the barbecue. I had volunteered to help, but there seemed to be enough staff to handle the people coming out, so we left after an hour. We're departing for Toronto in a few minutes.

Is that, like, a hat/scarf combo garment you're wearing there?

Yup!

You can see a blurry picture of what it looks like here.

You can see the tail running down my back, and the tip dangling about waist level.

Yes. It's pure wool and very warm. And it matches my eyes. ;-)

Nice pic, Dad. :-) Marian is very grown up and beautiful.

Marian just gets more awesome all the time. She's such an imposing personality in some of the photos you've put up of her in recent months, I sometimes think of her as quite physically large as well. It's a shock to see her looking small next to you, when I think back to how large I look next to you.

Size regardless, you're both looking just beautiful.

Thank you, Pete. Marian is 5'1" and unlikely to grow any taller (her mother is not even 4'11"). It was a shock on the first day of holidays to walk into a store where my daughters had gone shopping, see them standing together and realize Brenna had caught up to Marian since the summer (they turned 12 and 14 this fall). Brenna will likely grow another inch or so.

I was going to say beautiful hat...and ask what was it called, but you beat me to it lol. Seems like a nice day for a snowball fight hehehe. It brings back good memories of when I used to live in Connecticut many years ago:).I don't get much snow here in PR lol. Hope you have a good trip to Toronto. Be well:)

I was going to say it was too cold for good packing snow, but actually it may have just been the fierce wind that made it feel that way. I didn't actually check the snow. It's years since I've had a snowball fight.

We came into Toronto last night to see the opening of [livejournal.com profile] bitterlawngnome's latest show of photos. Marian and I will hang out downtown today before I take her back to school.

What a gorgeous portrait of you and your daughter. And how happy you look in it! A bright spot in my day today.

hugs, Shimmer

I'm always glad to provide some cheer. It sounds like you wore yourself out on Saturday, and perhaps spent Sunday more quietly?

Hugs,
Van

The guy in red is wearing the exact same jacket I got for Christmas.

The guy in the front, the handsome one with the beard, I want to kiss;)
