Drove with the window down for the first time yesterday. Already seems like ages ago.

I've been deeply immersed for days in developing my new website. Wanted to do this for several years, but the intense curve of relearning HTML and CSS always intimidated me. I finally attacked it out of necessity to post a web page for non-LJers about An Elegant Path.

My old evaluation copy of HomeSite broke, so I've been playing with Nvu, a stand-alone HTML editor developed from Mozilla Composer. Unfortunately it doesn't do frames, the only method I understand how to embed LJ. The S2 style I want doesn't include a website link, so I had to put an icky menu frame across the top. Does anyone know how to add a link to an S2 layout?

Also complicated, but more fun, I've used JAlbum to create a series of galleries. Surprising how many photos fall under dominant themes: sky, ice, reflections, textures. I'm infatuated with plays of light.

You can check out the site: vanwaffle.com. So far I have home, poetry, journal and photo pages set up. The rest is yet to come. I'm obsessed. This is Galatea, coming to life and taking over.

Wonderful photo! I like how the background color of your page here sets off the photo so well.

Thanks, it seemed the perfect photograph to showcase with this new layout.

Got the chap books! NICE. I've read two and enjoyed them both.
I am savoring them, like a bottle of my favorite wine.
I love that image. The contrast of the rusty steel chain agains the organic of the plant/tree.

be well Van

Funny thing is, the background here is actually a big concrete drain pipe someone used as a gatepost, but I liked how it looked organic.

I am savoring them, like a bottle of my favorite wine.

Perfect. That's how I would like people to read it.

What is your favourite wine?

Love,
Van

Pretty. May I link that page at www.geocities.com/ponyboyzine/linkpage.htm?

I know that feeling.

Your site is shaping up nicely. Very soothing palette. The photos look great in the gallery.

I wish I could offer S2 help, but alas, I'm clueless about it.

Thanks, Brian. Hey, I see you're using the same journal style. It's becoming popular.

How's life these days?

I've used consistent blogging as a tool to keep myself creative even when I don't feel it, which has stimulated and (I think) matured me. The website gives me an opportunity to showcase my best work.
