Today was low-key compared to other years, exactly what I wanted: waking up with Danny (a pleasant arousal indeed) and spending some time quietly together. He took me to The Bookshelf for brunch (a bacon-mushroom frittata and baby greens), then we went camera shopping.
I had picked one out several weeks ago, but today I decided to take the plunge. My most significant purchse in years, it took considerable planning and saving, of which I'm proud. Also grateful to the many friends who made donations for copies of An Elegant Path. The proceeds went toward this purchase. Many thanks, and I hope you enjoy the fruit of this gift.
I won't give away the Kodak DX3500. I've learned from its limitations and will always feel a sentimental attachment. Its legacy is the hundreds of images in this journal so far. It might enjoy a quiet retirement while I experiment with the new Canon PowerShot A620:
