[My review of the Hayao Miyazaki film My Neighbour Totoro was accidentally deleted, substituted with a more recent entry. So was the copy saved in my files.]
Well, as much as I like 'em round and furry, I'm not sure that Totoro is hot hot.
But the scene where the girl melts into the big totoro's belly and falls asleep... oh, that looks so nice.
I'm envious of her, really. The feeling of deep, careless sleep is something that I find hard to achieve. The film, in my mind, is fundamentally about healing, and it is full of healing imagery like this. Which makes me think, I really ought to watch this again, soon.
