So while I'm sitting on the can, reading National Geographic and daydreaming about living the next wilderness adventure article, devin101 is actually kayaking the Blackfoot River in Montana, and writing about it with humour and flair. Highly recommended reading for lovers of the outdoors, and connoisseurs of good storytellling:

He is the son of my dear friend missprune. Honestly, I can't remember whether I first started reading mother or son seven years ago (or more) on Themestream when he was a teenager and already a memorable writer. He's a relative newcomer to LJ, but I'm glad to have his youthful invincibility (!) enlivening my friends page.

Kyaks rule! Too bad I haven't done as much kyaking as I've wanted to. The Koreans aren't much into it. I'm thinking of heading off to New Zealand after this, or else Australia.

I've never tried a kayak, but done quiet a bit of canoeing. I've only done it on white water once, but that was an exhilerating experience.
