Dream job

Someone at Two Rivers, Heather I think, tells me a scientist in the organization wants to hire a wildlife research assistant. This is obviously an important aspect of community development. Applicants must be able to add and subtract. She says I'm considered the best candidate for the job. I am thrilled.

Recognizing my recent tendency toward panic attacks while lying in bed in the morning has helped me avert them. This makes waking up slightly more bearable.

No, this was a dream. Sorry, I thought it was obvious.

Oh. I read "dream job" as the usual colloquialism.

No, this was a dream, I'm sorry to say. I guess my journal entries are becoming too opaque.

I read "dream job" as ideal opportunity. Admittedly, the qualifications were a bit underwhelming. (Well, who am I to say that? I actually suck at addition and subtraction...)

Yeah, the subject line was meant as double entendre. My humour here is dry, and laced with the disappointment of waking to reality. ;-)

this is marvelous. being a wildlife research assistant would be thrilling, fulfilling, and meaningful.

and i'm so glad you've found one way to avert some of your panic attacks.

Sorry, this really was just a dream job.

i saw that you might mean that. but i took 'dream job' as a possible job, not as a job possibility in a dream, if that makes sense.

was it a good dream?

I was happy while I was in it. That is one of the weirdnesses of my life: when I'm depressed I have happy dreams.

You had me fooled too, a little confused but fooled. I think your dream is suggesting a kind of job that really would, no fooling, be great for you and vice versa.

I really would like that kind of job. Actually it's not far from the summer jobs in agriculture and ecology I did as a university student.

Sort of the opposite of an anxiety dream?

Yes, it's strange: I seem to have happy dreams when I'm depressed. Then I wake to reality, and panic. ;-)

I should have written this differently. It really was a dream.
