Coming home

vaneramosEvery time leaving Mia and Corry's, like tonight, I've felt a tightness in my chest as if my heart is every-so-slightly breaking. Partly it is because I enjoy their strong feminine energy and will miss it. It's probably also because I've always tacked these visits on the end of an idyllic time away from the city, first with Brenna, then with Brenna and Marian, this time with Danny.
We're safely back in Guelph, overlooking photos and memories from a relaxing week away, and soon must slip back into our routines. I'll have much more to share in coming days but for now here is a wistful hello. Home is good, in its own way, though my heart also belongs to many places and people away from here.

I wish we had known them a little sooner so I could have taken you to visit them. Hopefully there will be other opportunities. Their place seemed so far away at first because its was an unfamiliar part of the province for me until this summer. But it only took us 70 minutes to get home from there last night. I hope to visit often. It has a peaceful, far-from-the-hustel-and-bustle feeling I know you would appreciate.
