One of my favourite wildlflowers, butterfly milkweed, I have never actually seen growing wild before, only in gardens. In Southeastern Ontario it is apparently abundant.
I'm not sure why this photo lost resolution in the Internet view. I cropped it slightly, but the jpeg is still perfectly clear. The same problem happend with one of the other photos, but four of them are fine. They were all slightly cropped. Do you know why, and if I can do anything to prevent this?
Aha, I found the problem. There was nothing wrong with the image; it was an HTML error.
I use the Kodak Picture Software that came with the camera for some modifications, and Paint Shop Pro for further modifications, including resizing. It won't manipulate dpi directly.
Interesting - the plants in our garden in Gloucester, MA still haven't bloomed yet and are definitely a few days away. It is a pretty shady spot, though.
Hmm, Warkworth is about one degree further north. I suppose it is due to the moderating effect of the ocean. At my parents' house on Lake Erie, the frost ends earlier, but their flowering trees always open a few days later than than the ones a few miles inland.
