I missed recording two knitting projects, but here is the latest, a simple roll-up cap designed by Philosopher's Wool Company. The luscious yarn is local, 60% mohair and 40% wool from Wellington Fibres in Elora, Ontario. The model is my trans friend, Jaye Crawford. The hat will go on the silent auction block at our concert tonight to help raise funds for the Rainbow Chorus Waterloo-Wellington.

Both are beautiful.... the wool/cap are really nice, and the "model" is very handsome as well. ;-)

I'd be happy to make you one, Mark. I'll keep my eye out for some yarn like that, or if you prefer you can send me some that you like.

oh goodness! I wasn't implying that you needed to make me one! :)
It is a really great shape, tho...hmmmmm....
Besides, wouldn't you have to pay some sort of fee if I sent you yarn? Remember what happened with the Net.Works stuff...

Thanks for the offer! I'm half-tempted to say "surprise me"!

You just have to indicate it as a gift and they shouldn't charge tax. I was aware of that for the trip down, but didn't think to mention it for the return trip, considering they were my own works. Lessons learned. And since that experience, others have told me UPS is notorious for charging high brokerage fees at Customs (I paid about $75 tax and $55 brokerage fee), so it's best to use other services to ship across the border. But we didn't know that.

By the way, someone I love, ubermunkey, moved to Denver recently, so it has made my short list of places to visit. And now that I have steady work, who knows? I might be able to afford it sometime.
