Holter

This is the holter I have to wear for 24 hours to monitor my heart. Blood tests were done last week. It's all precautionary. I don't anticipate any anomalies. My heart is good.

After just eight days the wound in the middle of my forehead is approaching invisibility. You can see it extending down from the point in my hairline. My body has always been good at healing itself, but this went so well it surprised me. Soon you'll have to look closely to notice anything. I'm lucky. Polysporin is mighty stuff.

Next week I'm going to help Dad clean up the house and yard, leaving Guelph on Monday and returning on Friday. It has been too quiet here, and I'm looking forward to a change of scene.

Glad you're healing well. I had to wear a monitor similar to that for a while and it was a mighty pain... but certainly better safe than sorry with all things heart-related.

Yes, it's some peace of mind. Fortunately I only have to wear it for one day!

Yes, alive and writing in Guelph! Something is stirring with the writing, which is good.

Oh yeah, I wore one of those for a day after my Syncope.A minor anomaly was detected so then I had a stress test with echo cardiogram and then a stress test with nuclear magnetic resonance imaging. The end result was nothing particularly wrong.

Syncope is a good Scrabble word, and a new one for me. The Wikipedia entry gives a thorough description of what happened to me, and why.

I had to wear one of those when I was pregnant and having hear palpitations. It wasn't too big a deal, except being worried about what turned out to be either nothing or an effect of anemia. In any case, the test showed my heart is excellent.

I didn't like the sandpaper they roughed me up with to make the thingies stick, though. Nor did I like not being able to shower.

Yeah, that sandpaper was weird. The nurse what pretty efficient though, and the sensation only lasted for a second. Fortunately I only have to wear this thing for 24 hours, and they warned me to shower before I went to have it put on.

Did I miss something? Are you getting surgery?

My husband had the same monitor thingy last week. He didn't mind it even when he slept. It took ONE week to find out he is fine. Whew.

No, you didn't miss anything. This is just a precaution after the fainting spell last week.

Hugs love. Glad to see it isn't going to leave much of a scar. And I'm glad your doing so well and healing fast. And looking sexy too!

Have a good time with your dad. It's probably a nice time of the year down there now.

See you when you get back!

Thanks Love. The weather down there is usually milder, but the fall colour tends to be drab. Anyway, it will be good having something to keep me busy. Hopefully we'll have a chance to chat during the week. Have fun at Rhinebeck!
