marian_w and Brenna lost their other grandmother on Monday. They were not close to her but, as Marian says, it's always strange dealing with the loss of family.

Nan was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer only a few days before she died. The family made plans to spend Christmas together, but as it turns out the girls did not get to see her.

Marian and Brenna are going to take the train to Windsor on the 26th or 27th so we can all visit with Dad for a few days. Danny will be there, too. I haven't had much time together with my daughters this fall, so I'm looking forward to it, a lot.

And Marian turns 17 today!

I'm really sorry the girls didn't get to see their grandmother again even with the lack of closeness. I hope it doesn't cast too much of a pall over the holidays.

Congrats to Marian on her 17th and to her Dad for being the parent of a nearly grown woman. ;-)
