10. Name an actor that launched his/her entertainment career in another medium but who has surprised you with his/her acting chops:

Mos-Def! I comment on this all the time when he pops up in films (he plays the alien in the Douglas Adam movie, but also several supporting roles in other films -- Ocean's 11, I think -- and he's really excellent, even in films that are generally bad like the Hitchhiker's Guide...).

I'm not going to answer them all, probably, but this popped into my head immediately. :>
