6 days

It seems like forever since I began this new writing practice, but in reality it has only been six days. On the weekend I didn't have any trouble getting up quickly to avoid disturbing Danny. The only hard day was yesterday; I felt sluggish, almost sick. I did not want to get up or go to work, but managed to go through the motions of the routine, had a shower and shoveled myself out the door. By 9:30 I felt better.

The only problem is I'm making no progress with the plot. I keep writing about characters, setting, and themes. Hopefully when I reread the first draft I'll be able to put together a new chapter outline. January is too busy. For now I'll just keep doing what I'm going, get the morning writing habit ingrained. The first weekend of February I want to designate a retreat to get a handle on the plot, but where will I go to escape the usual distractions?

Everyone felt flat yesterday...it was Blue Monday.
And don't worry about the plot....you will get inspired....maybe before Feb.
Maybe tomorrow.

Yeah, I heard about that. It's almost spooky. Thanks for you comment.

My idea of peace and quiet away from distractions would be a log cabin somewhere, or a cottage in a nice bit of country - by a loch, or by the sea. But preferably without snow, etc. Though our snow seems to have gone, for now. I would definitely have to give up the internet which is my main distraction.

Your plot will probably start coming together in due course. Work done on characters and locations etc is never wasted.

Go to Stouffville! Oh wait, that probably won't help...

It actually was one of the first ideas that came to me.

I would love to head to the family cottage, but getting in and getting the place warmed up would be too much work. Besides, I don't think the new wood stove is functional yet.

Thanks for the encouraging words. :-)
