Changes

I need to revise my chosen 6 changes for the year again. I realize it is essential for me to begin planning for further employment before the current work runs out near the end of the year. I am dropping the plan to "Read daily" because it can be deferred. Others can't. So here is the revised schedule:
  1. Jan/Feb: Focus daily on creative writing
  2. Mar/Apr: Establish and maintain a budget
  3. May/Jun: Exercise daily
  4. July/Aug: Learn to weave
  5. Sep/Oct: Research and make plans for further employment
  6. Nov/Dec: Plan and prepare healthy meals
That point for September terrifies me more than anything yet, but this process has taught me I am capable. Within two months, with concentration and determination, it is possible to make a significant attack on an obstacle, as I've done with financial issues.

In other news, I could not use the light box during Easter weekend, and back home this week I find I don't need it to get myself going in the morning. I've spent considerable time in the sun lately. So it seems April 1 might be the date to aim for in future. My mood could be better, but that is not surprising considering how much change is going on.

Ah, but "reading" is on your Fun Stuff list, so it hasn't completely fallen out of your Six Changes plans. :-)

Hugs!

Several years ago I started reading voraciously in my spare time. I must have ploughed through six novels in as many months, then got snagged in the middle of one and haven't finished a book since. It bothers me that I don't read more.

I know how you feel. My contract ends August 31st and I tremble a little when I think about it. But like you say, Van, learning we are *capable* is amazingly empowering.

Thanks to your inspiration of tackling your challenges, and oddly, the direction the 100 words project is taking me, I have started dealing with my own stuff, all the responsibilities I have procrastinated on. Making a start on finding medical insurance today gave me such an enormous endorphin boost, I was amazed. Just feeling that weight start to shift from my shoulders was great. I want more of that! And I'm pretty sure the steps you are taking will ultimately result in the same mood-enhancing lift!

I'm glad to hear about the medical insurance and so on. It really is a relief, isn't it, to resolve some of those outstanding necessities. How is the writing going on the 100 words?

The 100 words challenge is BLOWING ME AWAY with its impact on my personal growth. It might be pure navel gazing making for vastly boring reading, but for now it offers a controlled environment for some much-needed introspection and sorting out of stuff I've been carrying around for years and years. I've been making such breakthroughs that I'm a bit breathless. Who knew?

(Reminds me a lot of Julia Cameron's free writing every morning.)

I owe you one.
