Vote Highway 17

I'm reposting this photo because this stretch of the Trans-Canada Highway, which I enjoyed so much on our spring drive to Winnipeg, is in close running to have a song written about it. CBC's Song Quest will commission 13 new road songs, one for each province and territory, to be written by a Canadian artist. This section of road, also known as Highway 17 around the north shore of Lake Superior, is a journey through the wilderness, small villages dotted through great distances of boreal forest amid sudden stunning vistas.

Currently Highways 17 is running a close second to Roncesvalles Avenue in Toronto. If you would like to vote, go to Songquest, and click on the link for Ontario. You will have to create an account on the site, then you can vote. Vote for Highway 17! You can also vote for each of the other provinces and territories. You can vote once per day. Today and tomorrow are left until voting closes.
