The haemorrhoid problem was a little worse after work yesterday, but not as bad as the beginning of last week. Healing is never a linear process, but I have moments of panic when it doesn't improve.
I went to work again this morning. Upon arrival I discovered there was a holdup in the task I am working on, and Les was uncertain about what I should work on this morning, but he wants us to make two service calls in Toronto tomorrow. My body is still needing rest, so I decided to take today off and relax my laurels before tomorrow's road trip.
Coming home I heard a CBC interview with Ingrid Betancourt, the Colombian former presidential candidate who was held hostage by guerrillas in the jungle for more than six years and rescued in 2008. I am torn apart when I hear the extremities of humanity and inhumanity. Could I could stand to read her harrowing memoir, Even silence has an end? A little on-line reading turns up controversy over her behaviour toward other hostages who shared her captivity.
