Grey tone 10-stitch blanket

This is one of the biggest knitting projects I've completed so far. I worked on it practically every day from mid May to the early September last year, a few rows every morning before work. I used a few skeins of Jamieson Tweed Danny brought from the Shetland Islands in 2007. It makes a nice lap blanket, somewhat over a metre square. It was finished last summer but I haven't posted until now because it was made as a gift for Jon and Bill, and we only got around to giving it to them today. It's called the 10-Stitch Blanket because you cast on 10-stitches, knit the second square, then round the corners and continue knitting 10-stitch rows around the edge of previous work. It is easy to do, although you do have to pay attention. It's a free pattern on Ravelry.

I haven't posted much lately because I've been completely absorbed in reworking my personal website and starting the new blog.

It's easy but would have been more fun with something like Noro. :)

Really like the modern design. I posted a link on Twitter. I hope you don't mind?

When you were considering career paths, did anything to do with fiber crafts come up? Or do you prefer to keep that as a hobby?

Thanks for the tweet. Knitting is extremely labour intensive. I enjoy it as a social activity!

Love the blanket. I've considered doing one myself, but first I have socks to knit. Lots and lots of socks.

ps. Where's the new blog? Inquiring minds want to read!

This was a precious, meaningful gift - truly a labour of love - which Bill and I will cherish always, from our dear friend. Love you, Van.

Jon, it was a very satisfying project for me, and much love goes out with it.
