Great room

Life is sweeping along. We start moving in 16 days. Taken on the occasion of our first visit, here are a couple shots of the third-floor great room, one of the features that attracted us in the first place. We will put our looms, Danny's spinning wheel and other craft projects here. Envision craft parties! Maybe I'll have a drawing space to encourage me to start using Prismacolor again.

Oh yes, I know that well. I only have one.... for now. I've tried others, which have shown me the limitations that the one I have does impose. I've a big birthday coming next year, and had been thinking of getting a major piece of spinning equipment as my present to myself - a drum carder or possibly another spinning wheel. I have a couple wheels in mind, but need to see what my spinning priorities are, which will dictate which might be my better option.

Thankfully I have not been bitten by the antique spinning wheel bug!

I've a Lendrum double treadle folding wheel. A good work horse that does most things well. There's just other wheels that do some things better than this one. This will probably be the wheel I use the most, especially for travelling. The new one would likely be a stay at home wheel for doing certain types of spinning.

Yes: a travelling wheel and a stay-at-home wheel is what stephe's mother has been happiest with.
