Danny [livejournal.com profile] djjo has posted about our visit to Turkey Point a couple weeks ago. His account is more thorough, and he took a lot more pictures (both my memories—camera and brain—were running low so I took a photographic holiday). Be sure to click on the thumbnails: some of them lead to galleries of the campground (all work-safe) and the flora and fungi of Turkey Point Provincial Park. He also took some interesting sunset shots, and the cicada skins (on my hand) are delightfully creepy.

Thanks DO.

i don't find the cicada skins creepy. they're very common
here. i can hear them buzzing(in my mind)right now. i love
the sound, almost like a billion crickes in the distance.~paul

Not really creepy, just delightfully so. They're such bizarre little monsters.

they are. i just came back from a regular desert expedition.
i went over to Papago Park at noontime, wandered around with
gurdonark(Robert) and his associate, walked around the botanical
garden. it was cloudy but about 90 something. i guess we must
be mad dogs, cause we're sure not Englishmen. but we didn't
stay out long enough to burn up. saw a lot, unfortunately didn't
photograph anything. more pictures soon. i will learn to
use my digital camera!~paul
