This year feels much different from any of the previous ones, my first spent together with Danny in our home. I've found my own meaning in the time of year, but we both enjoy some traditions: a tree with lights, good food, movies and so on. My mother greeted Christmas exuberantly, and I inherited her pleasure in shared meals and gift giving. This morning we opened presents then watched a Christmas episode of Two Fat Ladies. Happy times. We look forward to a visit from all the kids next weekend.

Whatever this season means to you, may you enjoy it in good company and look forward to a 2012 rich with life.
