We arrived home safely at about 11 pm tonight. It was a terrific vacation all around, especially the past four days spent at the Men's Spring Knitting Retreat. Details of the trip have been posted at Speed River Journal:

For now this stands as a recap. I hope to write more in coming days about the MSKR, Prince Edward County wines, and Thyme Again Gardens, the outstanding B&B where we stayed while visiting The County. Unlike most of the vacations I can remember, which usually left me mildly depressed upon returning home, this one has buoyed my enthusiasm. It have ideas for several new projects to set in motion in due time. More about those later. Building momentum seems to be the theme of my life recently.

Thanks for the links - so good to read your updates. I love the idea on going on a retreat - knitting or otherwise! I guess I'd have to learn to knit before I could book on that one...

One of the participants had a non-knitter friend visiting the retreat centre who spontaneously joined us and learned to knit. At the closing meeting we talked about making the events more accessible to non-knitters by including introductory workshops or a help desk. Events of this kind occur in the UK, but I don't know the details; QueerJoe would be able to tell you.

One thing I enjoy about these events is that they are not as sexually charged as many gay male gatherings I have attended. Although cruising and hookups do occur (and are not frowned upon, in case you are interested), the emphasis falls soundly on community and creativity.
