Opportunity knocks

vaneramosYesterday I lined up another new writing assignment, this one with a new client. The pay isn't great but this is for the web version of one of my dream magazines, which does pay well. So this is very strategic.
Since December, every time I finish one assignment, another follows immediately on its heals. I am actually doing what I started to dream of doing 25 years ago. I need better paying gigs to make it sustainable, but this will become easier as more of my work appears in print or online. The two editors I have worked with so far have been wonderfully encouraging, and I'm looking forward to the new one. It will be the first to expand outside food writing.
2013 is turning out to be a very exciting year.
